This position works with geographic information systems (GIS) to map spatial features and maintain spatial databases. The individual in this position will: create, edit, and maintain spatial and attribute data; edit attribute data based on textual, tabular, spatial, and raster resources; update metadata records; field verify spatial and attribute data; and meet various project deadlines.

A temporary position is one created and intended to exist for less than one thousand four hundred fifty (1,450) hours in any calendar year. Temporary employees have no seniority, grievance, or appeal privileges. A temporary position may be either full or part-time.

Minimum Qualifications

Familiarity with Esri ArcGIS Desktop software including editing skills and cartographic production. Familiarity with aerial image interpretation and classification.

Candidates must have some formal coursework in mapping sciences (e.g., computer cartography, geographic information systems, spatial analysis, remote sensing) or prior GIS experience. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and an excellent work history and attendance record are necessary.
