GIS Data Technician

The essential function of the position within the organization is to read, interpret and create maps. Responsible for updating data related to geographical areas using GIS tools.

Performs technical and analytical work in maintenance and application of GIS data for various county departments and agencies. Responsible for creating GIS solutions for resolving business/operational problems, collecting and maintaining GIS data, map creation, troubleshooting technical problems, providing professional customer service at all times, and performing related work as assigned.

This position may be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires associate's degree in Geography, GIS technology, computer-aided drafting/mapping, Information Systems Management or other closely related field with one (1) year related experience.

Must be proficient in ESRI's ArcGIS software.
