What you will have an opportunity to do:
Gift Shop Associates at the Abbey Resort play an integral role in ensuring that each customer has a positive shopping experience. Sales Associates are responsible for assisting guests whether they are looking for something, or simply just browsing. Associates will keep the store clean, organized and a safe environment for shoppers. Associates will wait on all customers in a friendly and efficient manner. They must also be knowledgeable on the entire resort, and the immediate area outside the resort.
The Gift Shop Associate is responsible for attending and assisting guests as they inquire about merchandise. Sales associates must ring every purchase through the POS System.
Obtain and verify bank and open register.
Request change order if needed.
Assist customers in selection of merchandise.
Respond to guests' needs and relay comments to supervisor.
Collect and process cash/charges using computerized POS System.
Check in, inspect, and tag new merchandise.
Close out POS System; count bank, balance, and return.
Display merchandise in shop and shop windows.
Gift-wrap packages as needed.
List merchandise requests as voiced by customers
Vacuum, dust and straighten shop.
Move racks as needed.
Maintain store supplies, i.e., register paper, bags, etc. and put request into manager.
Answer telephones and take messages.
Punches in and reports on time and in full uniform for each shift. Answer guest questions using excellent customer service skills
Must be well-mannered, always display a helpful attitude, greet guests when encountered, show appreciation to the guest for being at the resort, always show willingness to help guests and employees.
Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime, or reduced hours.

What are we looking for?
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent customer service skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have command of the English language, written and verbal.
Must be able to organize time effectively and work flexible and extended hours if necessary.
Must be able to work flexible days and hours, including weekends and holidays.
Basic mathematical skills.
Basic computer usage skills.
Able to stand for extended periods of time (90 percent of shift).
Able to lift 35 pounds
Good hearing and vision with or without corrective lenses.
