This company is a late stage start-up that is offering a great starting compensation plan with a $90k Base Salary, a Total Comp plan of $270k, plus 20,000 Stock options, excellent benefits and lots of growth opportunity. They have openings in Phoenix, Miami, San Francisco and Detroit. This is a great opportunity for an experienced GI Sales Rep that wants to thrive in an entrepreneurial corporate culture!!!!!


1. MUST have GI, or Operating Room/Surgery sales experience
2. MUST be able to travel. Car/Plane/bicycle...whatever..
3. Company will consider candidates with prior GI - Pharma, Biotech, or Surgical Instrument sales experience.

Our Client is a company that likes to hire from companies such as: Boston Scientific Endoscopy, ConMed, Karl Stroz, EndoChoice, Henry Schein Medical, etc. If you have worked for any of these types of companies, we would like to speak with you!

In this position you will be calling on GI surgeons throughout the territory selling a GI medical device to support a specialized GI procedure which allows patients to get off of chronic GI medication regimens.


  • Achieve the annual revenue target.
  • Professionally introduce and represent the company to prospects, customers and partners.
  • Demo surgeons on a GI medical device to support a specialized GI procedure which allows patients to get off of chronic GI medication regimens.
  • Educate physicians, hospital staff in OR on the procedure and its benefits to the patient.
  • Assist the sales support teams with sales strategies to attain monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals
  • Be a Product Advocate to all involved, introduce and gain support to get physicians and hospitals acceptance of the GI surgical product.


  • Bachelor degree required
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
  • MUST have GI Medical device or surgical instrument sales experience.
  • MUST be currently selling to Gastroenterologist and Surgeons in Hospitals and ASC Surgical Centers.
  • Real advantage to have - experience with billing, CPT codes, procedure codes and getting new products on to approved hospital lists, Insurance lists and GPO's and IDN's or Start-up experience.
  • Travel within territory as well as outside territory for conferences and training.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.

Base Salary: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 (DOE) + $7,200/yr car allowance

On-Target-Earnings: $270,000.00 - $290,000.00 + Great Benefits + Full Expenses

Locations: Phoenix, Miami, San Francisco and Detroit areas

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Designs a plan to effectively impact doctors listed on provided "call plan" * Identifies new doctors and qualified leads to be added to the "call plan" as needed * Travels throughout assigned territory to call on identified and prospective customers to promote Prometheus pharmaceutical products and laboratory services * Analyzes territory to ensure frequency and distance of travel adhere to business needs, maximize sales and ensure key physicians and practices receive at least the minimum number of visits determined necessary by call plan * Educates physicians and physician's staff on the value of the Company's products and services for patient care * Reviews sample test results format with physician to enhance understanding of the Company's technology * Provides guidance around pricing and reimbursement for promoted products. Triages staff to appropriate Prometheus personnel when specific reimbursement questions arise * Communicates with the National Account Manager as needed in the analysis and development of Laboratory Pricing Agreements and other logistics important for customer access to our diagnostic products * Prepares and submits timely reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts. * Collaborates with Technical Service Representatives to keep account activities, client database and literature up to date * Records call for current and prospective customers into Company computer database * Identifies and investigates customer concerns and communicates with home office Technical Service Representatives to promptly solve customer problems * Communicates customer feedback and communicates with sales management * Participates in trade shows as requested representing the Company and its products * Attends conferences, trainings, Plan of Action (POA) Meetings, National Sales Meetings (NSM) and product launches as required * Develops product knowledge and selling skills by studying for and participates in initial and supplemental internal training programs * Determines, analyzes and manages the coordination of territory needs for speaker programs and other promotional activities and with internal staff or external consultants in compliance with corporate, regional and district objectives QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Associate's degree in a science related program (nursing, etc.) may be considered if accompanied by 5+ years of other industry related experience (e.g. clinical research organization, medical science liaison, etc.). LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers. Bi-lingual skills for certain territories preferred. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid driver's license and maintenance of an acceptable driving record. Must follow all applicable guidelines as set forth in the Company Fleet Management Program including annual DMV reviews. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position may require significant and extensive ground and air travel as well as overnight travel depending on the territory's geography.
