Summary Practices as a collaborative hospital trauma team member. Practice includes coordination of team members, expectation management and communication flow for timely patient discharge, order set completion, protocol adherence, patient/family education, and injury prevention education to reduce future injuries or readmissions.

Under the direction of the Parkview Level II Trauma Center Medical Directors and Trauma Program Director, collaborates in the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of the trauma program adhering to the guidelines of the American College of Surgeons for Level II Trauma Centers. Participates in all trauma performance improvement/quality improvement endeavors. Provides education to hospital staff.

Demonstrates the ability to affectively use applicable computer systems required by the trauma services department. Clinical Practice: Conducts daily patient rounds and monitors patient course daily; utilizes advanced knowledge and clinical skills to access, plan, implement and evaluate systems of care for elderly patients; and completes comprehensive system assessment for trauma patient population. # Education Must have a BSN from accredited program.

Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). # Licensure/Certification Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Indiana. CPR certification required. # Experience Three years of critical care trauma experience required. TNCC within one year of hire.

TCRN within one year of hire. Geriatric experience desired. # Other Qualifications Must be able to handle multiple tasks and coordinate events. Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in public speaking. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to complete detailed documentation. Displays a willingness to work as a team member with a pleasant, courteous and professional demeanor. Proficient at Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Epic.
