Geriatric Nursing Assistant (Gna) ST. Elizabeth - 12 Hour Shifts- Weekends Only

Payrate is $17.60 - $18.18 per hour

St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is currently seeking Geriatric Nursing Assistants, who performs medical and physical care to elders in nursing unit to meet their daily needs and enable them to function at the highest possible level.

St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation and Nursing Center provides a comprehensive array of individualized rehabilitation and nursing services, including short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, memory care and in-patient hospice care.

We are hiring for the following shifts:

Weekend Only 12 Hour Shifts 7 am

• 7pm & 7pm

• 7am

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attends to all elders' personal hygiene and daily living. This may include, but not limited to, providing baths, shampoo and shaving, providing and clearing bedpans and urinals, assists with meals and feeds patients. Ambulates, turns and positions patients. Provides fresh water and nourishment between meals.

• Plans and facilitates social activities for elders of the nursing unit which provide meaningful ways to spend time through recreation, exercise, and relationship building.

• Follows universal precautions, proper infection control, sanitation and safety standards in all work and elder activities.

• Instills confidence in elders by maintaining a neat appearance and performing duties in a competent and caring manner.

• Reports observations of elders to the nurse caring for the patient to ensure professional assessment.

• Participates actively in the elders care planning and care plan meetings, serving as the elder's closest advocate in directing their care and honoring their preferences.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED.

Certification/Licensure:

Passed the Geriatric Nursing Assistant examination and meets Federal requirements.
