The Geriatric Nursing Assistant Specialist performs various resident care activities and related nonprofessional services essential to caring for personal needs and comfort of residents. His/her function may not exceed Standards of Practice as accorded by Certification.

In addition, the Geriatric Nursing Assistant Specialist assists professional nursing staff by performing in a leadership role for the CNA staff and performing assigned routine duties in caring for residents. He/she is supervised by a professionally trained nurse. Qualifications: Successful completion of a state-approved GNA program and current certification required.
