Job Title: Construction Materials Technician
Job Description
We are searching for a diligent and experienced Construction Materials Technician to join our team. This role entails performing field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating with various stakeholders including project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor's representatives regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results. Additionally, the role involves transporting material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis. Other responsibilities include tabulating, preparing, and submitting data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Project Manager, maintaining and cleaning equipment, vehicles and work areas, and possibly assisting with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards.

Construction experience

This is a fully on-site position in Lenexa, Kansas.
Work Environment
The successful candidate will be required to perform testing on the job site, with documentation work carried out in the office. Some lab testing will be done in our lab in Lenexa. The role is primarily field-based, with approximately 75% field work and 25% office work. The candidate will be working in small teams ranging from 1-3 people depending on the job requirements. Our work culture is characterized by a 'can do' attitude and we value proactivity during slow work periods. The dress code requires boots, jeans, and a company-provided shirt.
