What You'll Do ECS Limited is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our team in Salt Lake City. In this role, you will support project performance, provide technical oversight, ensure quality control, and grow to support other groups.

Responsibilities Primarily involved with preparation of geotechnical reports, including analysis and recommendations with a strong commitment to meet project deadlines. Provide full lifecycle project management services and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders. Host or attend project meetings with clients to follow up on delivered reports and provide technical solutions as necessary.

Perform slope stability, bearing capacity, and settlement analysis. Provide support for proper implementation of foundation designs, retaining structures, and other geotechnical systems. Conduct and supervise field investigations including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing as needed and assist with rig access issues.

Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances. Classify soil and assign lab testing. Monitor the performance of geotechnical structures and recommend maintenance or remedial measures as needed.

Engage in risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies for ground-related issues.

Provide recommendations for soil improvement techniques such as compaction and use of geosynthetics. Manage construction materials testing (CMT) projects with daily report review, assist with resolution of issues, and training of field staff on your projects.

Prepare both geotechnical and CMT proposals and support business development efforts. Stay updated with the latest industry standards, guidelines, and best practices. What We're Looking For Basic Skills and Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university required.

Related degrees considered with proven, documented experience with geotechnical reports, and daily use of civil engineering principles. 3 years of related experience, preferably a mix of residential, commercial, public sector infrastructure projects. Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required. Working knowledge of geotechnical and construction materials testing ASTM standards.

Ability to work effectively in teams, with clients, peers, and subordinates, as well as independently. Understanding of soil mechanics principles. Familiarity with foundation engineering and slope stability analysis.

Skilled in utilizing geotechnical software for analysis and design tasks such as: PLAXIS, GeoStudio, gINT, LPILE/Allpile and others. Who We Are ECS Group of Companies (ECS) was founded in 1988 with the goal to raise the standards of professional engineering consulting.
