You will be part of a dynamic, growing, and energized team - and your role is key to the success of ECS. While your job duties may fluctuate day to day, here are some areas we expect to see you proficient in:

  • Working in a laboratory that tests both geotechnical and CMT materials

  • Testing routine laboratory materials such as Moisture Content, Atterberg Limits, Sieve Analyses, Proctor, One Dimensional Swell Tests, Consolidation Tests, Unconfined Compression Tests, Txaxial Tests, CBR, Pinhole Tests, Resistivity Tests, Lime Series, pH, Soluble Sulfate Tests

  • Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment

  • Keeping the laboratory in compliance with QA/QC initiatives, DOT, AMRL, CCRL, and AASHTO accreditation requirements

  • Working as a field technician performing geotechnical drilling, classifying soils in the field

  • Performing calculations and data reduction of test results

What We're Looking For

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 0 2 years of experience

  • Some serious GRIT and have no problem lifting/carrying 40 100 lbs. multiple times a day

  • Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites Mileage will be reimbursed

VIEW JOBS 9/7/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-12-06T00:00 Overview Responsible to conduct soils laboratory testing for the geotechnical department under the direction of the geotechnical laboratory manager. Responsibilities Technical * Contacts Direct Report for priorities and deadlines * Performs test assignments in accordance with established procedures and specifications * Performs test assignments in order to meet project deadlines * Performs routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and maintains proper documentation of maintenance and calibration * Uses laboratory equipment in a safe manner to minimize wear and preclude damage * Assists in other areas of the laboratory or field when necessary as determined by Direct Report * Insures safe usage and maintenance of company vehicles and test equipment * Updates Direct Report on progress, delays, and problems on every project. * Performs other duties as assigned by Direct Report Qualifications * High school or G.E.D. certification * Minimum of 1 year geotechnical laboratory experience * Understand and follow verbal and written instructions * Heavy lifting and carrying (45+ lbs.) to move equipment and sample containers * Maneuver within confines of laboratory. Access shelves, cabinets, etc. that have been constructed to preserve the integrity of the physical conditions of samples Must pass a drug test prior to employment and will be subject to post-accident, random, and reasonable cause testing during employment.
