Geotechnical Laboratory Technician

What You'll Do

As a Geotechnical Laboratory Technician, you understand the true meaning of hard work. You are smart, strong, and have a "roll up your sleeves" attitude towards your work. You are extremely detail-oriented when analyzing samples and recording results. You're a great problem solver and take on any responsibility thrown your way. We understand that you may not have a vast amount of laboratory experience; however we do provide extensive training and opportunities for certifications. You will be part of a dynamic, growing, and energized team - and your role is key to the success of ECS. While your job duties may fluctuate day to day, here are some areas we expect to see you proficient in:

• Working in a laboratory that tests both geotechnical and CMT materials

• Testing routine laboratory materials such as Moisture Content, Atterberg Limits, Sieve Analyses, Proctor, One Dimensional Swell Tests, Consolidation Tests, Unconfined Compression Tests, Txaxial Tests, CBR, Pinhole Tests, Resistivity Tests, Lime Series, pH, Soluble Sulfate Tests

• Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment

• Keeping the laboratory in compliance with QA/QC initiatives, DOT, AMRL, CCRL, and AASHTO accreditation requirements

• Working as a field technician performing geotechnical drilling, classifying soils in the field

• Performing calculations and data reduction of test results

What We're Looking For

• High School diploma or GED

• 0 2 years of experience

• Some serious GRIT and have no problem lifting/carrying 40 100 lbs. multiple times a day

• Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites Mileage will be reimbursed
