Position Summary

Internship positions at Jacobs provide college students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in their specific area of study. Interns will work alongside world-class professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting which provides interns invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment.

  • Perform routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision.

  • May use computer-assisted engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.

  • Collects and prepares data for evaluation.

  • Assisting in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations.

  • Providing support to engineering staff members as needed.

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in at least their junior year within an Engineering curriculum is required.

  • At least a 3.0 GPA is required

  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel is required

  • Previous design intern experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microstation is preferred

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management.

  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

As a Software Testing Intern, you will work on a variety of impactful projects supporting our Design Business Unit in Concord, MA. You will help develop and test our industry-leading simulation software while gaining real experience in your field of study. This internship is a 40-hour per week paid position starting May 2019 and concludes August 2019. RESPONSIBILITIES * Testing and quality assurance of simulation products * Conduct interactive and automated testing of user interfaces and simulation results * Investigate and track defects in production code * Develop regression tests * Create scripts and tools to automate testing infrastructure, process and tools * Learn and employ best practices for quality assurance MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Pursuing a MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher * Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship * Knowledge and interest in software testing methodologies and/or EDA tools * Exposure to scripting languages such as Python, Unix Shell scripting or VBScript * Sharp and tenacious problem solving skills * Team player, responsible, and motivated PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * ANSYS software experience CULTURE AND VALUES Culture and values are incredibly important to ANSYS.
