As a Geospatial Specialist 1, you will serve as the District Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Coordinator and will be responsible for integrating watershed monitoring and management into forest planning and implementation. Your work will be crucial in supporting the district's goals related to habitat, recreation, and operation, and you will play a key role in adapting these plans to meet changing needs. Additionally, you will manage district watershed and stream monitoring data sets; assist district managers in collecting, maintaining, and utilizing spatial data; and work with forestry staff in utilizing spatial technologies. As this is a professional forester position, you will assist in all levels of state forest resource management activities assigned by your supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment

• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

• Overtime and travel may be required as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• An associate's degree in geographic information systems, geography, geospatial technology, cartography, computer science, natural science, or related STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) field, including or supplemented by six (6) credits in geospatial coursework; or

• An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes or is supplemented by six (6) credits in geospatial coursework.
