Genome Editing Production Lead

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Genome Editing Production Lead, are to:

• Accountable for leading activities to produce edits for all crops globally.

• Accountable for leading identifying, testing, implementing process innovations and efficiencies in producing genome edits.

• Accountable for leading, aligning strategy and tactics across biotech and breeding teams that are performing editing cloning, transformation, and CE testing and characterization.

• Accountable for leading the design of a new pipeline to produce genome edits for crops globally.

• Accountable for driving resource management of editing production and capacities across crop, sites, and collaboration needs globally.

• Responsible for contributing to the design of appropriate IT infrastructure to support the genome editing pipeline.

• Identify new collaborations, technology licenses for genome editing methods that drive process efficiencies for genome editing workflows.

• Conceive of and drive any IP generated because of new innovations.

• Responsible for representing research to relevant Crop Science R&D leadership teams.

• Provide relevant KPIs/metrics for the production of genome edits to relevant R&D partners.

• Member of the Crop Genome Editing Products Core Team Grow

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

• Masters in molecular biology, genetics, gene editing or related discipline

• Demonstrates consistent initiative and innovation that results in significant technical, business, and competitive contributions.

• Demonstrates exceptional record of technical leadership and identify areas with potential for major, commercially significant breakthroughs.

• Interacts routinely with leading technical experts, division heads and senior leaders from major functional areas on current and future business opportunities and engage internally and externally about technology drivers.

• Ability to work effectively within a dynamic, cross-functional, multidisciplinary organization.

• Strong project management and interpersonal skills and ability to influence others effectively.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a business environment

• Ability to develop, align on, and implement a strategy.

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in molecular biology, genetics, gene editing or related discipline
• 10- 12 years' experience molecular biology, genetics, gene editing or related discipline
