Technica LLC seeks to fill the position of Ground Support Worker (Generator Mechanic) at Ft. Bliss, TX.
Description:
  • Perform Technical Inspections (TIs), verification inspections, preventive maintenance/repairs on various powergeneration equipment, tactical utility, precise power-generation sets, internal combustion engines, andassociated equipment up through 200KW; to include tactical wheeled vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot, overhaul, rebuild or repair starters, alternators, generators, fuel injectors, voltage regulators,switches, control circuits, etc.
  • Inspect and repair, portable heater fuel and electrical systems.
  • Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solvedsolely by referencing manufacturers manuals or similar documents.
  • Uses complex electronic test instruments, computer based diagnostic equipment and load banks. Performs otherduties assigned by the Supervisor or Lead.

Requirements:
  • Must possess the following skills: Generator and power plant operations, electrical generation and distribution,diesel generator operation, disassembly, inspection and maintenance, principles of electrical and electroniccircuitry
  • Must be able to read electric schematic drawings and interpret its symbols that represent real-world objects.
  • Must have the ability to analyze and interpret US Army and/or Commercial Technical Manuals with relation toequipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Must have the ability to verify serviceability of equipment, determine the economic reparability of the item anddetermine the extent of maintenance effort and repair parts required to restore the item to the prescribedserviceable condition.
  • Must be able to obtain NACI.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 70 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 40 pounds.
  • Able to climb in and out of military/civilian vehicles and related equipment.
  • Able to stand for at least two continuous hours.
  • Able to work in cramped areas for at least two continuous hours.
  • Able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, andsnow and sleet.
  • Able to function with a basic level of English oral and written language skills.

VIEW JOBS 12/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-13T00:00 Technica LLC is accepting applications for the position of Locomotive Mechanic Engineer located at Fort Bliss, Texas.<br />  <br /> <strong>Duties: </strong> <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Primary responsibilities involve operating and servicing the train.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Must maintain constant watch over assigned area and equipment, looking for possible hazards, malfunctions, or defective equipment, or track obstructions.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Must be knowledgeable on operating characteristics of locomotives when pulling different types of loads, under varying types of weather and track conditions.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Must be knowledgeable of coupling and uncoupling procedures with multiple types of rail cars.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Must know how to set, release, and control rail car brakes, attach and release brake hoses, close airline angle cocks, to include placement and removal of chocks.</li> </ul> <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Inspects, maintains, cleans, repairs, tests, and adjusts a variety of systems used on theGP-10 diesel-electric and GP-40 four (4) axle diesel-electric road-switcher locomotive systems.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Troubleshoots and repairs the full range of systems on the GP-10 and GP-40 locomotive.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, lights, emergency lights, cab controls, air brake controls, fuel system, air reservoir, changing filters, fuel nozzles, fuel lines, replaces defective controls and components within applicable maintenance publications.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Performs emergency repair to rail car air systems and holding devices.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Uses test, measurement, diagnostic equipment (TMDE) such as torque wrenches, voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeter, and special tools applicable to the GP-10 and GP-40 series locomotive equipment. Inspects railcars for serviceability and reports deficiencies.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Inspect locomotive every 92 days per CFR and fill out the mechanic's portion of the required form. Insure that sufficient parts and supplies are on hand to keep locomotive operational.</li> </ul> <br /> <strong>Skill and Knowledge:</strong> <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Knowledge of the use of radios and hand, lantern, flare signs and</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Signals to total knowledge of the military-owned rail system to include ungated motor vehicle intersections.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Knowledgeable of the composition, operation, and maintenance requirements of all systems and recognizing need for repairs for both the locomotive and a complete variety of railway cars.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Must be certified and or recertified as required in CFR 49 parts 200 to 399.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Pass annual testing for locomotive engineer and urine analysis tests.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Independently troubleshoot/perform diagnostic checks through a working knowledge of all system and component for the GP-10 and GP-40 locomotives and variety of railcars. Must be able to operate material handler equipment.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Independently determines work methods to accomplish assignments and maintain five (5) locomotives to CFR 490 part 240 and TM10/20 standards.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Maintains constant alertness to prevent injury and accidents. Work is reviewed by Rail Supervisor for compliance of instructions.
