Job Description:

The HR Generalist leads all HR activities for our Budd Lake, NJ distribution facility (OpCo). Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develops and implements strategies related to recruiting and onboarding activities

  • Performs recruitment activities in compliance with human resources policies and procedures and in accordance with federal and state laws regarding employment practices

  • Serves as an employee advocate and consultant with Regional HR Manager regarding employee relations and performance matter

  • Leads projects in support of assigned functions

  • Interacts with all associates, senior leadership, and governmental and private agencies

  • Develops sourcing strategies to recruit and select regular and contract staff

  • Serves as in-house recruiter and retention practices and strategies. Develops, streamlines, and enhances staffing systems, tracking, and reporting

  • Conducts analysis on staffing-related activities with Leadership Team and OpCo President

  • Conducts all Onboarding activities including i9's, Orientation, Safety Training, New Hire Training

  • Ensures that all associates are aware of upcoming changes to the company's Benefits package during open enrollment periods

  • Answers and assists all associates with enrollment and adjustments to elections

  • Processes bi-weekly payroll for all associates in Kronos and APT ensuring accuracy

  • Also keeps tracks associate time off and makes sure that it is entered in the appropriate system correctly

  • Works with managers and associates on any Worker's Comp and/or Leave of Absence claims ensuring all compliance with all State and Federal laws

  • Also guides the associate through the claims processes

  • Develops and facilitates programs in support of the company's organizational development initiatives.

  • Partners with Regional HR Manager for support and consultation with associate relations matters, including disciplinary action

  • Interprets company policies and procedures to include communication to associates

  • Remains current on industry and regulatory activities that could impact HR programs

  • Leads project-related activities in support of staffing, development, or other HR activities located within OpCo

  • Leads employee relations activities including but not limited to employee lunches, service awards, and morale boosting events

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelors

Required Experience: 6 - 10 years

Advanced knowledge of HR functional responsibilities to include staffing, employee relations, training and development. General understanding of compensation and benefits. Strong analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills to interface at all levels of the company.

Preferred Experience: Project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

SPHR, PHR, or SHRM-C Certification

HR Generalist experience including 3 years recruiting and hiring exempt and non-exempt associates

Current and thorough knowledge of employment law
