Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (BMNTC) is currently accepting applications for a General Utility Worker/Groundskeeper for grounds maintenance and other general maintenance/repair duties.

This position is designated "mandatory" and must report or stay over during adverse  weather events or other emergencies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Routine care and maintenance of lawns, shrubs, trees, flowerbeds.  Applying proper quantity and amounts of fertilizers, pesticides to ensure the beauty of the grounds.

  • Planting and removal of trees and shrubs as needed.

  • Assisting in performing underground repairs to service lines such as water, sewer, steam and underground manholes.

  • Assisting with the general maintenance repair of all related equipment.

  • Assisting in the  removal of snow, ice, leaves limbs and removal of all debris from the grounds as needed.

  • Performing other duties of the Maintenance Department such as plumbing, carpentry and painting and patching old and new walls as needed.

ABOUT BLACK MOUNTAIN NEURO-MEDICAL TREATMENT CENTER:

Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is one of three state operated facilities serving adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders often related to a diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability.  The health and physical status of these residents require 24-hour supervision, daily nursing care, and assistance with activities of daily living.

The successful candidate will return to the Work Experience section of the application and thoroughly document, in detail, that they possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in grounds maintenance.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working/repairing most power equipment such as mowers, trimmers, tractors, etc.
