The essential duties for this job include:

  • Assists with traffic control; places and gathers cones, warning signs and barricades; flags traffic.

  • Operates heavy equipment such as a front-end loader-one and a half cubic yards or more, tractor-trailer haul truck, large dragline, shovel, paint striper and dump truck.

  • Operates light equipment such as a front-end loader-one and a quarter cubic yards or less, pneumatic roller, rotary broom, spreader box, backhoe, street sweeper and mower.

  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections (PMI), routine servicing and minor repairs on equipment and completes various required reports including time-keeping, equipment forms, inventory, accident forms and PMI.

  • Sands or cleans bridges and roads, posts warning signs, helps the public and performs other work as directed during emergency situations such as floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, snowstorms, accidents and hazardous material spills.

Competencies

The required competencies for this job include:

  • Communicate effectively

  • Methods, procedures, equipment and materials used in intermodal transportation engineering construction and maintenance work

  • Basic vehicle mechanics, maintenance and repair procedures

  • The use of applicable hand and power tools, equipment and mechanical devices of the trade

  • The use of light and heavy highway equipment

  • Maintaining a safe working relationship

Education

This job requires the following:

  • None in formal education

Work Experience

This job requires the following:

  • 1 year in Engineering support, maintenance, construction, heavy equipment operation or roadway maintenance work.

  • (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part time equivalent)

  • No supervisory experience required.

  • No Substitution

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Drivers License

  • Safety Impact Certificate

  • Commercial Driver Certificate

  • Safety Impact and Commercial Driver certifications are not required at the time of application. The Safety Impact and Commercial driver certifications will be issued by TxDOT at the time of hire.

  • Required to work hours other than 8 to 5 as needed.

  • Required to work under exposure to inclement weather conditions.

  • Required to wear personal protective equipment provided by employer and comply with all safety requirements.

  • Must attend work regularly and observe approved work hours.

  • Must have a class A Commercial Drivers License and the N endorsement on their CDL

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-06T00:00 Position Summary: Assists in patient care and preparation of surgical patients; Performs scrub duties and related procedures; Accountable for ensuring cleaning and maintenance of supplies and equipment for selected specialty. Performs in the advanced roles of preceptor, service specialist and instrument room liaison. Position Responsibilities: * Assist surgical team in the scrubbing role according CHI St. Luke's policies and procedures. * Maintain sterile field. * Report immediately any breaks in aseptic technique. * Pass instruments, suture products, medication, and sponge materials to surgeon. * Assist with retracting of tissue and organs, and suctioning by holding the retracting. * Instrument that has been placed by the surgeon. * Electrosurgical current may be applied as directed by the surgeon. * Perform surgical counts with the RN according to policy and procedure. * Proficiently function in the scrub role for all services provided * Function as a resource for at least one specific service. * Utilize/open supplies judiciously, offers suggestions, improvements with focus on quality and cost containment. * Actively participate in product evaluations. * Assure appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure: * Assist RN in updating preference * Work closely with the instrument room as service specialist/instrument liaison to assure provision of quality. * Assist in housekeeping duties as directed to insure safe patient environment and an efficient room turnover. * Assist RN with circulator duties while under direct supervision. * Work assigned shifts, responding when called upon for additional or emergency service as necessary and on-call according to Perioperative policies. * Actively participate in providing 2 in-services per year at unit or service level. In-services are approved by the Manager prior to presentation. * Attend at least 10 hours of continuing education per year. * Preceptor for students and new employees. Complete preceptor orientation paperwork within established time frames. * Actively participate in unit/committee meetings and is an active member of a professional organization. * Quality – completes work with accuracy and thoroughness. * Productivity – efficiently utilizes time in accomplishing work. * Customer Focus – lives organizational and departmental service standards. * Reliability – completes tasks assigned; follows up as needed. * Availability – meets attendance standards; is punctual; works when needed. * Decision Making – displays sound judgment; works with minimal supervision. * Initiative – seeks out productive duties in absence of guidance; is a self-starter. * Adheres to Policy – follows CHI ST.
