General Surgeon - Relief/Per Diem

Experience Ketchikan, Alaska - a friendly, family-oriented community in scenic Southeast Alaska only a 90-minute flight from Seattle. Ideal Candidate

• Board Certified MD/DO who has successfully completed a General Surgery Residency

• At least 5 years of post-training experience due to the solo and rural nature of this position

• Interest in a practice that is GI-heavy preferred

• Ability to work independently and be excited about creative solutions for patients in our island community

• Willingness to do a small amount of Wound Care, as there is not a wound care clinic on island. There is a Wound Care certified RN on staff

• Interest in working on an as-needed, Relief basis

Practice Highlights

• Clinic Hours Monday-Friday 8:30am

• 4:30pm

• 2 days of surgery per week (same hours)

• No weekends

• Call is 1:3 (roughly 10 days/month); 24-hour call for ED and Inpatients and any urgent surgeries

• RN/LPN who have been on the team for many years - the practice flows really well

• Good OR capabilities (no robotics)

• 3 ORs

• 2 are staffed all the time / 1 Minor OR / Procedure room in clinic for in-office General Surgery procedures

• Visiting specialists for GI and Urology

• Epic EHR

Relief Hourly Rate: $283.02
