A General Service Worker will provide a variety of support tasks to the Big O Tire operations such as transferring tires, stock and inventory tires and products, and maintain the appearance of the Big O Tire stores.

  • Transfer tires as needed between stores and warehouses

  • Clean the shop and employee bathroom

  • Inventory warehouse merchandise

  • Maintain a clean shop, lot and employee bathroom, using company guidelines

  • Maintain internal and external store appearance to comply with Big O Tires standards

  • Know and adhere to company policies and procedures

  • Utilize and perform all duties on the company checklists to meet consistent adherence to policies, procedures and expectations

  • Adhere to all local, state and federal regulations concerning all facets of job responsibilities and duties, and store operations

  • Follow posted work schedule and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked

  • Maintain timely and professional communication with management, employees, vendors and customers

  • Keep supervisor informed of any maintenance problems and/or any issues that need attention

  • Assist in the proper training of new employees as needed

  • Safely operate customer vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions

  • Unload transport trucks and warehouse tires and cut up disposed tires and dispose to the proper area

  • Clean facilities, tools and equipment; and stock shelves

  • Complete all required training in a timely manner

  • Maintain good working relationship with all employees

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • 17 years of age (with parental consent) or older

  • Valid driver's license

  • Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed

  • Reliable transportation to work

  • Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials

  • Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery

  • Capability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles

  • Ability to exchange accurate information with customers

  • Willingness to work with hazardous materials

  • Ability to consistently drive and work in outdoor weather conditions

  • Willingness to comply with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) regulations

  • Vision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odors is essential

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or driving) for up to nine hours per shift

  • Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve product and supplies from shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory weighing 75 pounds

  • Ability to meet company requirements, including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and criminal background check

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States of America

Position Information Class Code: M051C Grade: GS06 FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT Salary Range: $36,155.00 - $52,425.00 Summary The Family Service Worker is responsible for providing protective foster care and supportive services for abused or neglected children. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Functions Investigates suspected child abuse and neglect complaints by making on-site visits, securing background information, and interviewing parties involved. Discusses investigative findings and observations with supervisor and recommends the opening of protective services, foster care, or supportive services cases. Intervenes in crisis situations, removes the child from the home if the situation is life threatening, and arranges for temporary placement in foster homes, group homes, or treatment facilities. Develops a case plan to establish goals, objectives, tasks and time frames for all parties involved in case. Provides counseling and guidance to clients in defining their needs, interests, and courses of action and refers clients to other professionals, agencies, services, or community resources appropriate to clients' problems. Recruits and trains families, conducts home studies and family assessments to determine appropriate child placements, and visits clients and/or foster parents on a regular basis to monitor progress toward case objectives. Documents all case work activities and developments and prepares court reports for custody hearings and presents testimony when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.
