ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a General Service Technician at Christian Brothers Automotive - Frisco West, you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • All Maintenance work such as oil changes, tire rotations, suspension alignments, etc.

  • Follow all rules and regulations as spoken or written in any form by the management, i.e. employee's handbook and any addendum issued or posted at any time.

  • Maintain a good and positive attitude and the team concept at all time.

  • To act in a professional manner suitable as to represent a quality organization with which you are employed, always and in every instance projecting an attitude of honesty, integrity, and respectfulness.

  • Each employee must adhere to all OSHA safety rules and regulations as well as all city, county and state regulations regarding shop safety, fuel spill clean up or other flammable or hazardous material.

  • Assist in all housekeeping functions as directed by management.

  • Examine vehicle and discuss with service writer/service manager the nature and extent of any damage or malfunction. Provide recommendations for repair, parts list needed to perform recommended repairs and hours required to perform the repairs using industry standard labor guides. Provide list of all items needing attention, whether maintenance, safety or other.

  • Perform a thorough Courtesy Inspection on all vehicles when approved by the customer.

  • Insure all under-car, under-hood and preventive maintenance inspections and reports are complete and accurate.

  • Raise vehicle with hydraulic jack or lift, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicle, using proper equipment and safety procedures.

This self-motivated, detail-oriented professional is responsible for building and servicing NLC's manufactured products, such as the TransBanker™ transformer training lab. A positive attitude, integrity, communication, teamwork, and follow-through skills are vital to the role. Interacting with customers, this person will be responsible for determining service needs, providing product advice, and performing warranty and maintenance labor. Reports to Manufacturing Manager. What you'll be doing: * Facilitate and assemble finished products and sub-assemblies for the full line of products * Closely follow prints, diagrams, and instructions to assemble products within specified tolerances, maintaining the superior quality and integrity of NLC products * Research materials, designs, and processes in order to make recommendations to improve quality and value, while reducing costs and time to manufacture * Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting ease of manufacture and the assembly instructions and procedures * Maintain a graphic and written log of all work performed, materials used, time allotted, and other applicable data * Follow work order processes and perform tasks in the ERP and/or other data systems as necessary * Create and maintain customer warranty and maintenance database(s) * Maintain accurate inventory of product materials, sub-assemblies, finished goods, tools, and consumables * Produce regular reports to management detailing all warranty and maintenance projects * Focus on safety: create and maintain a clean and safe work environment; strictly follow the manufacturer's recommendations for the safe and proper operation of tools/equipment; and ensure tools/equipment are kept up-to-date on preventative maintenance (PM) * Identify and resolve training opportunities and/or procedure gaps * Employ a learning mindset-orientation, committing to achieving professional development goals as established by collaboration with your manager * Other duties as assigned The success patterns for this position are: * Minimum of four (4) years' experience working in technical and/or general manufacturing or production setting which required adherence to code or minimum measured tolerances per engineering requirements * Minimum of two (2) years' work experience as a fabricator of various materials, adhering to specifications with tight tolerances * Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL and fork lift certification * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite * Personal mobility, manual dexterity, flexibility, and balance to work in an office environment, classroom or field setting; stand or sit for extended periods of time; bend and reach to move or carry items weighing up to 75 lbs. * Personal stamina to work in an outdoor environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions and noise The successful candidate will have the following personal characteristics: * Ability to gracefully manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining focus on the customer experience * Tremendous work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude * Excellent communication and listening skills in English, both oral and written * Exudes a high level of professionalism, driven by a standard of excellence – in short, you will embody the NLC spirit!
