General Operator - 1St Shift

The General Operator will add value to the company by producing parts shipped all over the world. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, running, or tending, to one or more machines or processes used in the manufacturing of medical devices. They may perform other functions within the manufacturing process, upon request, such as deburring, polishing, cleaning, assembly, or performing finishing operations. Some of the machines or processes the General Operator may work with but to limited to, include CNC Mills, CNC lathes, CNC Swiss Machines, manual mills or lathes, drills, saws, vapor degreasers, cleaning machines, small sand-blasting cabinets. The ideal candidate shows strong attention to detail and works well in a team.

What You'll Do:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Participates in production group daily meetings to solve problems, assign tasks, and achieve production group goals

• As a member of a dynamic team, operates machines or processes as needed to meet customer demand and quality requirements.

• Observes machine operation and performs in-process inspections to ensure customer products conform to established standards.

• Reads customer or manufacturing prints and specifications; interprets dimensions, tolerances, number or parts to be formed, and tooling instruction on type tooling required.

• Inspects product using calipers, micrometers, overlays, comparators, or other measuring instruments to verify conformance to prints, specifications, or manufacturing work instructions and standard operating procedures.

• Records information such as; first article inspection, in-process inspection, number of products tested, meter readings, and dates and times of work piece production. Uses data collection software to record productivity output.

• Performs basic preventative maintenance on processes and assigned machines as requested.

• All employees are responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.

• Continually seek opportunities to improve safety and operational performance by seeking ways to understand and improve upon established objectives and targets, measured progress, and historical results.

• Other duties may be assigned.

What You Bring to the Table:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or

• One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Read and interpret blueprints or other job specifications.

• Ability to make all inspections on machined parts using precision measuring equipment.
