General Mechanic- Painting
General Summary
This position is responsible for providing painting services as required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provides painting services by painting commercial building and equipment using various types of paints and stains, including touch up painting.
Works with epoxy floors, finishing custom building cabinets and furniture as needed.
Makes repairs to sheet rock, masonry, panel walls, and ceilings.
Set up paint and equipment.
Reads and understands blueprint drawings, schedules, manufacture instructions and specifications related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, special equipment and building structures.
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs, not limited to: operating, cleaning, inspecting, adjusting, tightening, replacing, lubricating, reporting problems, etc. on electrical, mechanical, plumbing systems and fixtures, building structures and furniture.
Assist with other facilities services: HVAC, Electricians, Plumbing, Carpentry, Masonry, Painting etc. to complete repairs and renovations.
Responds to routine and emergency work requests.
Perform other duties as may be required by supervisor.
Will observe appropriate operational, safety and study requirements by reading, understanding, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and study protocols when entering regulated facilities as necessary.
May be required to facilitate and escort contractors while on campus.
Assist with building scopes of work and assisting with obtaining quotes.
Requirements/Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma with four years of relevant experience or two years' experience in the craft and an AS degree in a related discipline.
Demonstrated skills related to the craft.
Good verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of use of protective equipment and safety protocol related to the possible expose to dust, chemicals, fumes, vapors, or mists that could potentially affect the health of the employee.
