The Club Manager will be responsible for the oversight of gym operations to ensure an exceptional "Judgement Free" member experience as well as a financially successful club. You will get the opportunity to serve your community by enabling all people to enhance their lives. The Club Manager will be accountable for leading a team of employees in a positive, motivating manner with continuous assistance in employee training and development, while maintaining a financially successful club.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train and develop a high performing staff consisting of Assistant Managers, Supervisors, Customer Service Representatives, Trainers and Custodians.

  • Create a culture of positivity and motivation within your club and your staff.

  • Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensure staff follows superior customer service guidelines. Provide 1 service.

  • Completing all payroll functions in a timely manner, this includes but is not limited to running reports, submitting payroll and approval of time cards.

  • Staff Management

  • Schedule staff and ensure all shifts are covered.

  • Lead by example and maintain consistent accountability for direct reports by training and coaching, ensuring adherence to PF's values and goals.

  • Administration and processing of all weekly/bi-weekly employee payroll.

  • Resolve employee issues or concerns.

  • Manage disciplinary/termination activities.

  • Complete monthly and annual evaluations on your team

  • Uphold integrity and security of staff files and sensitive company documents.

  • Involved in all front desk related activities including:

  • Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.

  • Check members into the system.

  • New member sign-up.

  • Take prospective members on tours.

  • Demonstrating and unparalleled knowledge of computer systems to complete any membership related function.

  • Explaining and promoting our unique fitness instruction classes (pe@pf) to our active members and our new members, helping them to keep their workouts new and exciting.

  • Facilitate all member requests, issues and questions.

  • Exceeding the minimum required daily statistics.

  • Ability to take control of, assess and assist in emergency medical situations.

  • Upholding rules and policies in the facility.

  • Ensure prompt opening/closing of gym.

  • Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of facility.

  • Ensure safety of employees, members and club property.

  • Determine and communicate equipment repair in a timely manner.

  • Manage marketing efforts by ensuring that staff is aware and trained on all marketing promotions.

  • Authorize expenditures and refunds.

  • Make daily bank deposits.

  • Prepare all HR related forms and processes.

  • Track statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, annually).

  • Backup support for any employee who is absent.

  • Maintain your club to a BER standard of 94% or higher.

  • Be a brand ambassador by leading a judgement free lifestyle.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.

  • Experience working as an Assistant Manager at Planet Fitness preferred.

  • Exceptional leadership, diplomacy and listening skills.

  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).

  • Hard working, enthusiastic and energetic!

  • Strong problem resolution skills.

  • Current CPR Certification recommended.

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Must be punctual.

  • Must have the ability to be constantly on call on an immediate as needed basis.

Physical Demands

  • Continual standing and walking during shift.

Job duties: Staff Management: * Assist GM in creating staffing schedules with the assurance that all shifts are regularly covered. * Lead by example and maintain consistent accountability for direct reports by training and coaching staff members to provide exceptional customer service. * Leading a team through systems and operations to achieve common goals. * Assist in preparation of all HR related forms in a timely manner. * Work with GM to resolve employee issues or concerns in a professional manner. * Assist GM in disciplinary/termination activities. * Provide backup support for any employee who is absent. * Uphold integrity and security of staff files and sensitive company documents. * Be a brand ambassador by leading a judgement free lifestyle. * Must be reachable by phone at all times * Responsible to assist GM in the training and development of staff to include providing day to day coaching. * Assist GM in pre-screening, hiring, onboarding and recruiting. Club Cleanliness and Maintenance: * Keep the front desk area and lobby clean and orderly. * Regular facility cleaning and upkeep such as mopping up spills under equipment, trash removal, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights. * Regular cleaning of all exercise equipment and tanning beds. * Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked and clutter free by creating and following routine cleaning schedule. * Accurate completion of daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities. * Oversee the safety of employees, members and club. Report repair concerns to Facilities Management in a timely manner.
