Job Description


As the General Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all store activities to ensure store performance expectations and customer service levels are achieved. The General Manager is responsible for all day to day decision making, ensuring the store is always reacting quickly to the market and customers. This individual is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and developing all staff. This individual completes all reporting and administrative procedures as required. The General Manager directly manages Sales Managers, the Office Manager and Fixed Operation Managers.

  • Implement processes to achieve store profitability goals.

  • Develop store sales goals and business plans. Improve gross profit and processes.

  • Develop and implement local marketing activities.

  • On-going customer engagement and communication.

  • Manage web portal and online presence.

  • Manage and oversee activities of all dealership departments.

  • Minium of 5 years experience as a General Manager at a delaership is required

  • Demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities to develop and motivate successful teams.

  • Exceptional communication skills; both written and verbal.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Successful background in financial/budgeting role.

  • Possess an acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence.

The General Manager leads the team that creates and maintains all that is BevMo!; exemplary customer service, flawless execution, operational excellence, and team member development. He or she is accountable for delivering the most compelling, relevant and inspiring beverage shopping experience through the stores' teams by selecting talent, developing strong performance management plans, coaching and training. The General Manager oversees two teams of Co-Managers, Service Leaders, Receiving Clerks and Sales Associates. People/Leadership: * Effectively splits times between stores based on the needs of the business. * Works closely with Co-Managers, providing clear goals, monitoring performance, and holding them accountable. * Hires, coaches, trains and sets expectations for the team, conducts annual performance evaluations. * Assumes overall responsibility for all departments within the store. * Assigns area of responsibility (AOR) for all departments and leads appropriately. * Develops talent at all levels and creates a bench for internal growth. * Ensures staff is trained and knowledgeable in customer service, merchandise and operations; able to identify and develop top performers. * Establishes clear expectations and assesses teams' performance through consistent observation, feedback, accountability and coaching. * Creates developmental/performance plans and provides ongoing training regularly. * Builds loyalty among the team through motivating and compelling communication. Inspires collaboration and cooperation in others. * Creates and ensures an environment where all associates are treated fairly and respectfully. Customer Service/ Sales: * Coaches and develops teams to build relationships with customers and identifies and removes distractions that could minimize effectiveness. * Forecasts and watches business trends closely in assigned stores, identifying missed opportunities, and developing strong action plans to improve performance. * Demonstrates desired behaviors for staff including driving sales, handling difficult and/or complicated sales, cash management, inventory, and follow-up with customers * Makes regular contact with businesses, charities, community groups and looks for cost effective opportunities for BevMo! to participate in events and market store to the local community Operations: * Effectively splits times between stores based on the needs of the business. * Creates work schedules that effectively address the customer service and operational needs of the business within their payroll budget. * Ensures company standards are met for store and associate by mentoring a strong sense of ownership in each team member * Prioritizes, plans, and adjusts schedules as necessary to maximize sales * Monitors payroll, ensuring appropriate staff levels at all times * Plans, coordinates, and executes all merchandising direction, campaigns, and sales promotions * Ensures strong execution of merchandise sets and promotional events in assigned stores (i.e., local product promotions and merchandising) * Communicates to ensure the stores have the right products for the customer base. * Manages store controlled expenses to budget, identifying opportunities to increase contribution * Manages and controls shrink; ensures effective inventory management * Utilizes company tools to identify opportunities and develop action plans to improve performance * Establishes and maintains a safe work environment in assigned stores follows up on work related injuries to determine root cause and prevention and injured workers are able to return to appropriate work duty * Enforce all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and security are followed; ensures compliance to all wage and hour rules.
