This General Manager position is accountable for the management and efficient operation of an assigned facility. This manager will provide direct and indirect oversight for the staff and their development as well as compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Helps direct and guide assigned housekeeping and janitorial employees.

  • Helps train new staff and provides ongoing training to existing staff.

  • Regularly conducts, replaces, and disperses assigned inventories.

  • Regularly conducts inspections to maintain the quality of provided services.

  • Coordinates associated equipment care and maintenance.

  • Helps conduct safety meetings and insures daily operations are in compliance with company and client safety requirements.

  • Makes sure all quality standards and work procedures for staff are met.

  • Personally resolves minor maintenance or client emergencies as they occur or takes steps to permanently address them.

  • Assist employees in the resolution of work related difficulties.

  • Identifies, resolves, or appropriately reports site's safety hazards.

  • Assists in having available all required HazCom documentation.

  • Performs all duties required of a janitor or other assigned employee.

  • Accountable for meeting all of the obligations required of assigned employees.

  • Willing to promote NMS Core Values in the workplace.

  • Other related duties may also be assigned/required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Minimum five (5) years of directly related experience that demonstrates knowledge of janitorial duties required.

  • Experience in supervisory role overseeing janitorial operations for multiple large buildings.

  • Experience in school custodial operations strongly preferred.

  • A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy.

  • Must be proficient in using the following equipment: calculator, fax machine, multi- line phone, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, copy machine and misc. office equipment.

  • Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

  • Knowledgeable about the use of industrial cleaning products and chemicals, and interpreting Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, talk or hear, pull/push carts, twist. The manager is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The manager is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The associate must frequently pull/push linen cart up and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to vibration. The associate is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Summary This position physically carries out as well as helps direct the activities of those involved in providing a variety of cleaning services and other related duties required to keep facilities in a clean and orderly condition. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Performs all duties required of a Janitor or other assigned employee. * Is accountable for meeting all of the obligations required of assigned employees. * Helps direct, guide and train new staff and provides ongoing training to existing staff. * Cleans, sweeps, vacuums, mops, sanitizes, or restocks hallways, stairways, offices, food preparation or break areas, kitchen areas or equipment, laundry rooms, living areas, work areas, off-site areas, common areas, restrooms, public areas, or other similar areas. * Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, extract, waxes, buff, vacuums, etc. all types of floors. * Dusts both low and high areas, and wipe down or cleans various surfaces. * Uses appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions for all tasks. * Removes and transports trash to the appropriate disposal areas. * May change light bulbs and perform light facility maintenance. * May keep building entryways free of snow and debris. * May operate a vehicle to work at various locations. * May periodically perform a variety of special duties such as certain types of laundry duties or periodically scheduled cleaning tasks. * Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times. * Maintain a clean and orderly cart and storage areas. * Report any material discrepancies beyond the scope of work to the Supervisor or Maintenance Department. * Wear proper uniform at all times. * Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the handbook. * Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned. Minimum Requirements * High school education or GED equivalent. * At least one (1) year of directly related experience that demonstrates knowledge of cleaning equipment and general cleaning duties or supervision of employees. * The ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, callouts, etc. * Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English. Preferred Qualifications * A valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record for the past 3 years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy.
