Lead the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD), coupling the most advanced information system technologies - including advanced computing platforms, artificial intelligence, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, software development, data engineering, and data science - to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems and services to our customers.

These cutting-edge solutions developed by ISCD play critical roles in enabling the software and cyber information solutions for their primary customers: the US Space Force (Space Systems Command, Space Development Agency, Space Rapid Capability Office, Space Warfighting Analysis Center, and Space Command), National Reconnaissance Office, NASA, Space ISAC, among others.

ISCD provides services across the full range of IT, including:

  • Software engineering across the software development lifecycle for software-intensive system acquisitions

  • Use of modern software development techniques and processes

  • Exploration and implementation of solutions at the intersection of artificial intelligence and space

  • Data engineering and analytics to create decision-quality information from large amounts of raw data

  • Protecting the space enterprise from cyber security threats

  • Use of the latest in technical computing hardware for terrestrial and space applications

We are seeking an innovative General Manager to lead the Information Systems & Cyber Division (ISCD), who will report to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of the Engineering and Technology Group (ETG). The General Manager of ISCD leads a large diverse, geographically distributed organization comprised of the world's top space engineers and scientists providing technical expertise as lead for information technologies as outlined above.

The General Manager is responsible for establishing strategic direction, technical operating plans, managing workforce staffing levels, developing top talent, building and retaining a high performing technical team, overseeing the quality of technical products, strategic planning, goals, and objective setting, and tracking external developments that impact the mission area. In addition to overall responsibility for the Division, the General Manager also works with multiple customers to assure mission success and serves as senior leadership for game-changing corporate strategic initiatives.

This is a 100% onsite position based in El Segundo, CA. Chantilly, VA, or Colorado Springs, CO

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead division operations - develop the strategic vision, technical operating plans, manage budgets and internal investments, staffing & workforce planning for both internal and customer efforts, talent development, succession planning, internal and external customer interaction, and creating technical solutions.

  • Provide leadership for collaborative initiatives across Aerospace that develop and implement distinctive capabilities in ISCD's three strategically focused subdivision areas:

  • Integrated Data & Applications

  • Cybersecurity & Advanced Platforms

  • Software Engineering

  • Develop division strategy, cross-divisional dependencies, and objectives consistent with corporate goals, program office and customer expectations, as well as provide direction and planning for achieving strategic goals.

  • Maintain division focus on assuring enterprise mission success, from early threat consideration and architecture development through acquisition and development to operations.

  • Work with internal and external customers to translate their needs and hard problems into technical priorities, products & services, and implementation plans.

  • Drive and enhance the value of ISCD's R&D portfolio, solving our customer's hardest problems by transferring R&D products to customer applications, programs, and industry.

  • Anticipate customers' future needs and inspire an agile, mission-responsive workforce.

  • Collaborate with People Operations to optimize outreach to colleges, universities, and conferences, leveraging full spectrum of opportunities to provide a pipeline of emerging, best-in-class diverse technical talent. Partner on strategic workforce initiatives including: strategic hiring, leadership development, culture change, talent management and succession planning, engagement and retention, building high performance teams, and driving DEI principles into the culture and development of talent.

What You Need to be Successful

  • General Manager, Information Systems & Cyber Division (ISCD)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience with information system technologies, cyber security, and/or software engineering with demonstrated ability to generate positive business outcomes.

  • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical discipline

  • Demonstrated technical, executive, and people management skills across strategic planning, budget development and execution, and the hiring, development, and retention of diverse, high-performing, and change-resilient technical talent.

  • Demonstrated acumen in leading integrated, multidisciplinary teams with a solution-oriented mindset to successful outcomes and results that have enterprise impact.

  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication "superpower" collaboration skills, high emotional intelligence exercised across all levels of management (including internal/external customers and contractors).

  • Deep understanding of and passion for new developments in the external technical landscape, with ability to derive insights that inform company, Division, and customer strategies.

  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to quickly establish relationships and trust with individuals and groups across the enterprise.

  • Demonstrated track record driving innovative organizational results through agility, anticipation of internal/external customer needs, cross-functional collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

  • Leads effectively in the face of ambiguity, aligning people and teams to achieve common objectives while proactively anticipating and mitigating resistance to change.

  • Willing to travel to customer/industry location domestically/internationally, approx 10-20%.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (clearance at TS/SCI level), which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
