EFI is looking for a General Manager - Commercial Print Segment to join our EPS Business Unit.
EFI's Productivity Software business offers products via license or subscription and has software tailored to industry verticals and different sized operations. In addition, the company's productivity software integrates with its print controllers and inkjet printers, providing a closed loop that delivers additional unique efficiencies. EFI is also consolidating the market, averaging several software acquisition per year since 2010, adding clients with cross-selling opportunities, expanding into new geographies, and rounding out the product offering. The software business is pivotal to EFI growth strategy.
Reporting to the Corporate Vice President/GM for Productivity Software, this role will drive the overall growth strategy for the commercial print and publication global business with full P&L responsibility. In addition, this role will oversee value added products created specifically for commercial print and packaging customers. The General Manager will work in close collaboration with the head of productivity software sales, VP of Operations, and VP R&D
Responsibilities will include:
Generating demand and developing business in new and existing markets in partnership with sales.
Demonstrating breakthrough thinking in assessing current and future market dynamics and outlook to define global strategic direction and priorities for the segment.
Serving as executive sponsor for key deals, and move deals to closure, operating at the CSuite level.
Establishing a vision for the segment and gaining necessary buy-in and resources for success from across the organization.
Collaborating with the Corporate Development team around inorganic growth established via market share and technology acquistions
Maximizing revenue and contribution margin, while providing balance and alignment to the segment portfolio to maximize the addressable market and share growth.
Developing and coaching a team to deliver industry leading solutions and establish EFI as our customers' long term trusted advisor and business partner.
Building and driving systems and processes to manage a complex, matrixed, global business.
Collaborating with various stakeholders (other GMs, sales, marketing, finance, etc.) to develop the overall strategic business plan for the segment including marketing strategy, pricing, competitive analysis, value proposition, positioning, budget and sales forecasts.
Regularly updating the organization on milestones and accomplishments. Celebrating wins in the market.
Developing detailed analytics around solution adoption, market feedback and future planning. Presenting to executives in a meaningful and simple way to demonstrate hands-on knowledge of the business and measuring the effectiveness of market strategies and key business initiatives.
The candidate will have 10-plus years' experience in the enterprise print industry. Enterprise software experience with additional industries is a plus.
The candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing a P&L, preferably for a business with top-line revenue in excess of $30M. The successful executive will have extensive experience in working for a global organization with a focus on business development including selling to customers of large scale.
The General Manager will also be a seasoned leader with an exceptional track record of building and motivating teams with geographically distributed people. The ability to work effectively across all functions is critical as is the ability to collaborate with multiple sites, styles and cultures. Experience in managing in a matrixed organization while influencing and leading significant change is also important for success in the role.
Finally, the selected candidate will have superb business acumen, excellent intellectual and strategic capabilities and a communication style that conveys expertise and confidence.
BA/BS in Business or related (MBA a plus)
Although there is a strong preference that the candidate be based in Pittsburgh, the individual can telecommute, but must be US-based.
Typically this role would travel 50-70 % of the time.
