The Moog Site General Manager is responsible for and oversees all activities of the of the Blacksburg Mil/Aero Actuation, Motors/Resolvers, Sensors, and Fiber Optic P&Ls of the "North" site of the Power and Data Group. The position requires senior leadership of a fully integrated business team of senior department managers including Operations (production execution, capacity, and planning), Support engineering (Design, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance), Program Management, Supply Chain (Purchasing and Production Control), Outsourcing, ERP leadership and Continuous Improvement. In this role the incumbent also serves as a key member of the Business Unit leadership team, supporting strategy development, revenue growth, cost control and operating profit.

To be considered for the Site General Manager, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Qualified candidates shall have a Technical or Business Degree with at least 10 years of management and/or business leadership experience with evidence of increasing leadership responsibilities.

  • AS9100 or other similar quality management systems experience is required

  • FAA/EASA requirements, ERP systems, ITAR/EAR and FAR/DFARS compliance experience is highly desirable

  • Facilitative leadership skills are required to construct, communicate, and execute the strategic and tactical objectives.

  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in team building and continuous improvement leading to business operational growth and margin improvement.

As a Site General Manager, you will:

  • Lead the business to meet or exceed planned targets in sales and profit, as well as other key business performance metrics. Expected outcomes will be maximized profits with customers understanding they are receiving the Best Value for quality and performance-based products and services delivered on time.

  • Establish and maintain an environment consistent with Moog's Values and culture. This includes building a Team that fosters customer trust and confidence in Moog, as well as, at the employee level creating a culture that ensures that Moog is a great place to work.

  • Be an agent for change and continuous improvement. Change agency can be manifested in many ways, including organizational constructs, job accountabilities, and problem-solving approaches. Our continuous improvement efforts are driven by lean principles - the Site General Manager must flourish in a lean environment and be comfortable with rapid change and leading from the top.

  • Develop a diverse organization that is responsive to changing business needs, and in the course of doing so, develop people and their careers. Facilitate individuals delivering increasing value to the company.

  • Deliver highly engineered and complex products under continuing cost pressure, supply chain escalations and delays, and reduced lead-time expectations. These conditions require customer centric focus, relationships, and planning.

  • The Site GM will report directly to the Business Unit Director. Direct reports include the leaders of Operations, Supply Chain, Support Engineering departments (Design, Manufacturing, and Quality), Outsourcing, ERP leadership, Program Management, and Continuous Improvement.

  • Solve the customer's most difficult problems with our solutions. Focus on systems that proactively avoid impactful issues.
