Sodexo is currently seeking a General Manager for Dakota State University - a public university in Madison, South Dakota. This General Manager 4 will oversee the Food Service Operation for residential dining, the retail operations, and oversee catering - including Presidential level, high end to high volume catering. Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Have 3-5 years operational management experience in a UNIVERSITY food service or other high volume dining environment.
  • Be a people person with a strong focus with maintaining positive client relations; a solid manager/leader who is perceptive and has attention to details that make a difference - quality and presentation of food - customer service -
  • Be STUDENT focused- including providing excellent customer service in a welcoming dining environment.
  • Be proficient in use of online Food Management Systems for menu/recipe planning, ordering and inventory;
  • Demonstrate proven financial acumen/success: Food costs/ labor costs, budgets.

The successful candidate will:

  • develop business plans that establish a rapport, promote partnerships and exceed the University's needs and expectations;
  • have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
  • manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
  • prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and
  • manage the budget by increasing revenue and controlling costs, reviewing financial statements and tracking operating expenses.

Basic Education Requirement- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
