Job Description Summary:

As a Transportation Manager, you are responsible for expanding your branch's revenue by marketing J.B. Hunt's transportation solutions and services, growing and managing our network of 3rd party carriers to efficiently move freight, and monitoring the performance and development of a group of carrier and/or sales personnel. Job Description:

What does it take to be considered?

  • A degree and 3 years of relevant Flatbed 3PL/Brokerage/Transportation experience. OR

  • 5 years of relevant Flatbed 3PL/Brokerage/Transportation experience.

  • Leadership experience is preferred but not required.

  • Must understand Budget and P&L management.

  • Think strategic, but be willing to get your hands dirty.

  • You must be able to travel and be on call 24/7.

  • Start your office by building your team. We encourage you to recruit experienced J.B. Hunt personnel to build your office around.

  • Find customers for your office.

  • Generate creative 3PL solutions to meet said customer's supply chain needs.

  • Leverage current assets, existing carrier relationships, or develop new carriers to deliver the solutions you crafted for your customers.

  • Work with our existing sales force to develop addition business opportunities for your office.

  • Continue to hire and train quality personnel and provide them a strategic vision for the future.

  • Full P&L ownership. You set your goals to drive your future.

  • GROW, GROW, GROW and strive for excellence daily.

Have above average working knowledge of open deck equipment types, Federal open deck securement requirements for multiple cargo types, open deck cargo protection methods and open deck axle weight limits. Understand industry verticals that align with open deck transportation.

Key Responsibilities * Operate as a business partner to the Southwest leadership team. * Provides HR generalist support for the following core processes and programs within Human Resources for his/her region: * Employee Onboarding * Total Compensation * Benefits Enrollment * Performance Management * Training and Development * Succession Planning / Talent Review * Compliance * Acts as point of contact for HR needs for employees and managers * Takes ownership for divisional training activities in partnership with divisional leadership. * Takes ownership for accuracy of HR data. Analyzes data, and reviews trends and areas of focus with divisional management team. * Effectively addresses employee relations issues in partnership with Legal and HR team. * Leads the total compensation and bonus allocation process with the Regional Leadership Team, and drives the process management of this program * Partners with managers to assist with team development and effectiveness. * Leverages HR Specialist to assist with HR process and administration in support of overall HR agenda and needs of the business. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree preferred. * 10+ years of HR experience, preferably with some experience in technical/engineering-based organizations. * Regional and/or multi-site HR Generalist experience preferred supporting 300+ person organization. * Solid depth in 1-2 core areas of HR (e.g., compensation/benefits, employee relations, training and development, organizational development, etc.). * Demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships with employees and managers at all levels including executives. * Strong verbal and written communication skills.
