Job Purpose: Perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds in multiple locations, including carpentry and painting tasks.
Responsible for performing minor troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments of locks on doors, cabinets, desks, closets, door hinges, change filters on heating, ventilation and air conditioning units and other general maintenance tasks.
Responsible for performing basic rough and finish carpentry work and prepares various surfaces for paint, enamel, lacquer, varnish, or stain or repairs wall coverings.
Responsible for providing routine general maintenance for rental properties including coordination of outside vendors.
Responsible for responding in a timely manner to scheduled/unscheduled tenant requests for a variety of maintenance issues.
Assist in Loading and unloading materials manually, off or on pallets, platforms, and/or boxes
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Report to supervisor any safety hazard Maintains a clean, neat orderly work area Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required Assist in all Freight and Material Handling as needed Assists in the scheduled/unscheduled upkeep and housekeeping of the Loading Dock and Warehouse storage areas Complies and coordinates with all policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designee Comply with OSHA guidelines Participate in all other training required by funding source(s) and/or the Corporation such as Human Rights training
Education, Experience, Certifications and Licensures: High school diploma or equivalent is required, plus a minimum of 1-2 years work experience in carpentry and painting Some experience providing maintenance and repairs of buildings is desired.
Possession of a valid driver's license and safe driving record required. CDL driving experience and licensed is a desirable. Must have the ability to provide own tools.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos, labels and numbers Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Basic ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office software. Must be able to pass criminal and drug screening processes to meet current Company and/or government legibility requirements that apply or become applicable to this position. The employee is occasionally required to walk, and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
