POSITION INFO:

DEPARTMENT/CATEGORY: Packaging / Maintenance

JOB TYPE: Hourly

SHIFT: 8- hour shift, 5 days/week

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Coordinator

LOCATION: Greensboro

PERFORMANCE SUMMARY:

The Packaging Maintenance Mechanic position is responsible for general maintenance work of machines, equipment, and facilities associated with the Packaging Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform all duties safely, follow all safety guidelines, and proactively participate in plant safety.

• Troubleshoot and repair all packaging machines electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic components. This includes, but is not limited to tape machines, sticker equipment, packaging stations, bin doors/flaps, etc.
• Preventive maintenance of all packaging equipment.
• Utilize fall-arrest system to perform work at heights greater than 4 feet.
• Communicate and cooperate with production to maximize throughput.
• Maintain good housekeeping.
• Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

EXPERIENCE:

Mechanical and pneumatic knowledge

• Automation experience a plus
• Some electrical knowledge desired
• Experience with PLC, analog and digital programming

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

Subject to standing, stooping, bending, for extended period.

• Able to lift-up to 50lbs or more.
• Temperature extremes of up to 110 degrees in peak summer months.
