General Maintenance Worker II

The City of Sugar Land is seeking a full-time General Maintenance Worker II in the Parks and Recreation Department.

• Perform labor tasks required for the operations and maintenance of parks and recreation facilities (e.g., irrigation repairs, minor plumbing repair, minor construction, and cleaning.

• Identify maintenance issues and submits a work order form for processing.

• Operate light equipment, drive trucks and use common hand tools (e.g. City vehicles, auger, front end loader, backhoe, electric power tools etc.).

• Perform light maintenance on equipment and vehicles ensure that they are safe, clean and ready for everyday use.

• Perform yard and facility maintenance and cleaning.

• Complete assigned work orders.

• Required to work overtime and on-call.

Minimum Qualifications

This position will be responsible for performing a variety of operations, maintenance, repair, and installation functions related to the utility field or tasks not directly related to utilities, but which are affected by these functions.

Formal Education:

• High school education or GED.

Relatable Work Experience:

• One year of related experience.

Training (License and/or Certification):

• Valid Class "C" Texas Drivers License.
