General Maintenance Worker I Parks

Job Description

This is a full time, hourly position working for the Parks Department. $16.75 to $20.65/hour (depending on qualifications) with full benefits. The position works outdoor, Hours will be Monday to Friday 7 am to 4 pm with a one hour lunch each day. Some extra hours during special events may be needed.

Main duties are emptying trash and cleaning of restroom facilities, water fountains, picnic benches, maintaining garden areas, flower beds, easements, pathways, entrance of recreation building areas, and open spaces such as baseball and soccer fields, tennis, basketball, and racquetball courts, etc.

During declared events, more duties to prepare for storms and weather related events will involve installing hurricane panels and taking down awnings and securing bleachers.

This position offers full time benefits which start the first day of the month following 30 days of employment. Must have reliable transportation, and be able to work in the heat and outdoor weather conditions.
