The General Maintenance Worker will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment and buildings, utilizing practical skills and knowledge across various trades. We are looking for an individual that can use their General Maintenance Worker experience to add value and make a significant impact as a General Maintenance Worker to NAVAIR for this opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities: Maintenance and Repairs: Perform general maintenance tasks, including replacing filters, signage, and cyclic maintenance.

Repair or replace electrical components such as receptacles, wires, switches, and motors. Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings with plaster or compound. Maintain and repair plumbing fixtures like sinks, water coolers, and toilets.

Paint structures and equipment as needed. Repair concrete floors, steps, sidewalks, and replace damaged paneling and floor tiles. Conduct basic carpentry tasks, including hanging doors, installing locks, and replacing window panes.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Inspect and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions. Record maintenance and repair work details.

Lubricate and clean parts of machinery. Repair or replace defective parts using various tools. Preventive Maintenance:

Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and building systems. Inspect and maintain drives, motors, belts, fluid levels, and filters. Technical Skills:

Assemble, install, and repair wiring, electronic components, plumbing, and machinery. Diagnose mechanical issues using blueprints and repair manuals. Plan and lay out repair work.

Use tools like hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and electronic testing devices. General Duties: Practice workplace safety at all times.

Perform additional duties as assigned. Maintain knowledge of heavy equipment and tractors for grounds maintenance. Qualifications: Active U.S.

DoD SECRET Security Clearance (Must have interim clearance before start date) Must possess a valid Maryland Drivers License High School diploma or GED 2 years of related experience or formal vocational/technical training in various trades Work Conditions: Conditions will vary. Capable of working outdoors and occasionally from elevated work platforms with a fall protection harness and in temperatures ranging from 0-120.

The position will include: 45% standing, 20% bending, 15% reaching, 5% sitting, 5% walking, and 10% lifting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Overtime is a requirement of this position.
