About Pee Dee Center

Pee Dee Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Florence, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Job Functions

• Maintains, repairs, and services plumbing issues at Pee Dee Center.
• Maintains food service equipment, appliances, hot water heaters, steam piping and drain lines inside, outside, and under kitchen.
• Maintains hot water boiler and chiller water piping at the gymnasiums.
• Maintains, services PM's, repairs electrical equipment, and panels.
• Performs other related and unrelated duties that applies to maintenance at Pee Dee Center.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

High school diploma and trades experience related to the area of employment. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis for basis. Driver's License required.

Immunization: If this position requires the applicant to work directly with DDSN consumers, a (2) step PPD testing or QuantiFERON TB Gold testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.

State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DDSN employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
