Job Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs skilled trade duties for project construction, facilities upkeep, and equipment maintenance. Provides assistance to the Buildings/Grounds Manager to maintain facility operations. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

40%

  • Essential

  • Station Maintenance: Assists buildings/grounds manager with maintenance and grounds-keeping; including mechanical, electrical, and HVAC. Performs trade duties such as carpentry, masonry, and plumbing.

30%

  • Essential

  • Lawn Maintenance and Landscaping: Mow, rake, and weed grass areas; pick up debris. Assist with planting and care of grass, ornamentals, and trees. Operate heavy equipment to perform grounds maintenance.

20%

  • Essential

  • Equipment Maintenance: Responsible for routine maintenance & repair of all buildings/grounds equipment and tools. Operates heavy equipment as needed.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • High School or Equivalent

  • General maintenance experience related to the area of employment.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Expected Salary Range ($37,900 - $40,000)

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Essential Level 1 Employee

Required to respond during an emergency closure or modified operations in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
