Preferred Minimum Qualifications:
1.High school graduate with two years minimum of related technical or trade school.
2.Five years of field work experience.
3.Ability to understand and use electrical and electronic test equipment.
4.Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned duties.
5.Ability to read fine print and Plans for extended periods of time.
6.Good past record of attendance and punctuality.
To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operative excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times. Perform necessary general repairs and maintenance to internal and external systems, such as lighting, HVAC, irrigation, plumbing, etc.
Essential Job Functions:
1.Plumbing repairs, i.e. - faucets (washers and stems), drinking fountain, flushometers (urinals and toilets), traps, drains, leaks and any other related items or jobs.
2.Electrical repairs, i.e. - electrical outlets, switches, lamps, ballasts, cover plates, cords and plugs, electric breakers and any other related items or jobs.
3.Heating repairs, i.e. - minor heat or air conditioning calls, change filters, change belts, grease and oil motors, clean units, clean heat and air conditioning coils or any other related jobs.
4.Carpentry repairs, i.e. - patch sheet rock and wood panels, trim, carpet, tile (floor and ceiling), touch up paint, varnish and stain, door and window repairs, furniture and cabinet repairs or any other related jobs.
5.Demonstrate ability to do heavy lifting from 50 to 75 pounds regularly.
6.Ability to read and understand Plans and Specifications.
7.Possess a Class A drivers license with ability to obtain a CDL license.
2.Assist other areas in completing jobs.
3.Assist in completing all craft PM programs and keep records up to date.
4.Work with grounds department when time allows to include manual labor and/or unplugging sewers.
5.Asphalt and roof repairs.
6.Playground equipment repairs.
8.Minor refrigeration repairs.
9.Mow lawns and trim.
10. Sprinkler system repairs.
11. Operate heavy equipment.
12. Minor welding.
13. Maintain yearly tool inventory.
Tools and Equipment:
Any or all tools required to perform the typical and periodic duties listed above will be provided by the District. Equipment includes a vehicle for transportation to and from jobs. All tools and equipment may not be listed.
General Maintenance Repairman are a Grade 7 on the Classified Salary Schedule.
FFC8 allows new hires to bring in up to 8 years of previous experience in similar school type settings.
Please understand that new hires tend to start out at the lower end of the salary range.
