Description:

Preserve and enhance the physical assets of TTC by application of finishes, in order to maintain an attractive and pleasant work place for employees and learning facility for students and clients.

• Schedule painting of classrooms and offices as required and directed.

• Prepare work area for application of finish to work product, protecting collateral material from over spray.

• Prepare work product, including cabinets and other wooden surfaces for application of finish by sanding, applying putty and filling nail holes, applying sanding sealer, and applying stain or other finish.

• Install drywall for District building remodels including application of mud and tape, sanding, application of primer and finish.

• As required, prepare doors, doorframes and window frames of District buildings for application of enamel finish, apply finish and clean up.

• Operate power washer, ensuring safe and proper utilization, cleaning District buildings and facilities prior to application of finish.

• Apply exterior finish to District buildings and facilities as directed, including site preparation, finish application and cleanup.

• Assist carpenters when required with various woodworking or related tasks.

• Assist in demolition as directed prior to construction and remodeling projects.

• Prepare itemized list of materials and supplies needed for projects, pick up needed supplies as appropriate.

Job Requirements:

• This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a professional painter or wood refinisher.

• Knowledge of the following is required:

• Construction trades

• Various finishes, and proper application methods

• Paint booth operations. ?

• Must have a valid Class D Driver's License

• Bilingual is a plus

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Hiring Range:

$38,678 to 42,697 annually dependent upon experience plus $9,000 additional compenstion yearly for salary-in-lieu of paid dependent benefit coverage.
