SUMMARY: Responsible for performing at a high skill level in maintaining all manufacturing equipment and assist with troubleshooting. Is aware of production goals and communicates with production personnel discussing areas of improvement as well as conducting analysis to improve performance in underachieving areas. Responsible for supporting the Plant safety focus with personal commitment and with technical support.

Inspects production equipment and components to determine if repairs are warranted. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance. Ability to determine time requirements to complete the repairs. Troubleshoots, installs and repairs mechanical components to include bearings, rollers, conveyors belts, couplings and shafts, gears and chain, pulleys and belts, air and hydraulic hoses and fittings, etc., following manufacturer's instructions and safety precautions
Communicates with the Operations Managers and Supervisors to insure the highest level of productivity and quality at the lowest cost.
Obtains necessary skill level to perform all duties and insures skills stay current.
Performs data collection, documentation and routine surveys for various plant needs.
Provides assistance to Master Mechanics and above when directed.
Provides assistance in new equipment/process installation and prove-in including training and troubleshooting.
Coordinates with Maintenance Manager and the Operation Managers the necessary preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Is fully aware of plant quality policy and objectives.
Assists in the training of new employees on all shifts.
Supports and promotes a "Team" environment in the department and across all departments and levels of the organization.
Enforce Safety, GMP, Dress Code, PPE policies
Has LOTO authority (authority to shut down line and perform LOTO duties)
Other duties as assigned by supervisor/operations management.
Works rotating schedule. Must be flexible on evenings and weekends.
High school graduate.
High level of extrusion and conversion knowledge and experience.
Advanced knowledge of Industrial maintenance practices.
Knowledge of each piece of equipment in the assigned area.
Basic computer skills including a working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
Strong leadership and initiative.
Strong interpersonal skills and must be able to communicate with all level of employees in the company.
Creative problem solving abilities.
