The Campus Facilities and Operations-Phoenix is seeking a dependable and highly motivated individual to support General Maintenance activities at the Phoenix Biomedical Campus. Our mission is to support academic and research activities on the campus.
Due to the nature of our educational environment, this position will occasionally work evenings and weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities
Supervises two or more full-time employees, or their equivalent, on a regular basis.
Makes decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees, or makes related recommendations that are given particular weight.
Assists in supervising staff in the general maintenance and repair/replacement of buildings, property, furniture, fixtures or equipment, which includes mechanical, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, carpentry and painting repair/maintenance.
Inspects buildings and property for inventory or maintenance and repair purposes.
Monitors projects with regard to progress and cost.
Estimates material and labor costs.
Instructs or trains staff in performance of tasks and ensures appropriate standards are maintained.
Ensures appropriate documentation is maintained regarding unit operations such as inventory/material supply levels, work performed and status of work projects.
Prioritizes work for staff; schedules projects and assigns appropriate staff.
Performs general maintenance tasks as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of general maintenance principles, practices and techniques.
Skill in applying general maintenance principles, practices and techniques.
Ability to effectively communicate.
Frequently lifts and carries up to 45 pounds. (i.e. 5-gallon water jug).
Occasionally lifts and carries up to 80 pounds (i.e. bag of concrete).
Pushes and/or pulls (appliances) using appliance dolly up to 200 pounds.
Moves objects from one floor to another.
Frequently bends/stoops, climbs stairs, kneels, balances, reaches above shoulder height, walks, and twists.
Has normal range of vision, hearing and speech.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
Six years of general maintenance experience which includes one year of lead experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources.
Some positions in this classifications may be required to obtain an Environmental Protection Agency Type 1 refrigeration license upon employment.
High degree of flexibility, self-starter, works independently, goal oriented.
Excellent organizational skills. This should include identifying and creating goals, SOPs and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Ability to effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and students.
Must be able to communicate requests, status, equipment evaluations, etc., through e-mail, work order systems or other written means. Good coaching skills.
Demonstrated ability to identify, initiate and complete campus projects involving scheduling, routine maintenance, work standards, etc.
Knowledge and experience of building systems including electrical, fires systems, plumbing, building management systems, etc., including operation and testing of these systems.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines and priorities.
Proven track record of being organized, responsible, and excellent verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Demonstrated proficient ability in the use of personal computers and software including Microsoft.
