Machinist Apprentice

Exciting News: An apprenticeship program has been approved for implementation on the East Aurora campus for September 2024.

Program Specifics:

  • Open Positions: 4 (Military Aircraft)

  • Affiliation: Erie Community College & Moog Inc. Aircraft Machine Shop

  • Duration: Approximately 2.5 yrs. (30 mos.)

  • Commitment: 5000 hours on the job training (OJT hours)

  • Coursework:

  • Eleven (10) relevant courses @ E.C.C. (2 classes/semester) *

  • Matriculation into the Industrial Technology Program at ECC will be required (only the courses we select are mandatory, however you may finish the program if you wish to get a degree)

  • On-Line Geometric Tolerance Course

  • Subject to change based on ECC class availability

Program Particulars:

  • Initial Wage Rate: $21.00/hour

  • Machinist position awarded on available shift at time (1st, 2nd, 3rd).

  • E.C.C. class time must be made up when it interferes with your shift.

  • Class Tuition is reimbursed per Moog's Tuition Assistance Policy.

  • Shop training is shift and location dependent on a quarterly basis.

  • Student is required to accommodate shift change (1st, 2nd, 3rd) as defined by program curriculum.

  • Training: Aircraft Machine Shop

Program Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift.

  • In accordance with strict Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A.) regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work (S.S.W.), employee enrollment & participation in the company's "F.A.A. Drug & Alcohol Program" is a requirement for this position.

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.

The base pay range represents the low and high end of the Moog pay range or indicates the hourly rate for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on many factors such as skills, experience, certifications and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
