The General Ledger Team Lead will have 5-7 years of experience in accounting and a solid understanding and application of US GAAP and will be responsible for managing a team of 2-3 accountants focused on closing multiple legal entities in North America.

What will your job look like?

  • Ensuring proper accounting and reporting for all areas of the balance sheet and Income Statement for US GAAP financials and assisting in tax provisions and filings

  • This role will require strong management and leadership and will interface with several other functional teams including divisional finance, corporate finance, treasury, tax and other units.

  • The GL Team Lead will be responsible for reviewing and ensuring high quality and timely delivery of all work products of the GL accountants on their team.

  • This will include accurate explanations of variances in the accounts & linkage of these to changes in the business, set expectations of the balances and provide active support in explaining variances over time.

  • The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of US GAAP.

  • The candidate will need strong planning and organizational skills in order to ensure monthly compliance with all required deadlines and project timelines.

All you need is...

  • 5-7 years of Accounting experience with emphasis in North America

  • Public Accounting Experience (Big 4 -preferred)

  • Accounting Degree and CPA certification

  • Foreign currency experience, including VAT and withholding tax experience preferred

  • Experience managing team of at least 2-3 accountants

  • Able to research and interpret GAAP, including strong understanding of internal controls

  • Ability to handle tight deadlines while ensuring accurate financial reporting

  • SAP experience

  • Ability to work in environment of rapid change
