What's the role?The Accountant assists in the preparation of financial statements and analysis for assigned Market Organization(s). This position executes accounting processes maintaining Hilti's Internal Control System. The Accountant participates in special management projects as needed.

What does the role involve?As the General Ledger Accountant, you will execute month and year-end close activities for assigned Market Organization(s) and perform all GL Accounting functions related to period close, including but not limited to post entries, reconcile accounts, variance analysis, and management reports, for assigned Market Organization(s). You will be responsible to update the inventory standard cost, the analysis of purchase price variance, and inventory adjustment to ensure the accurate costing of inventory. You will also assist with annual internal and external audits by preparing assigned schedules, providing supporting documentation, and meeting with auditors, as needed.

The role of General Ledger Accountant will also adhere to Hilti's Internal Control System for assigned Market Organization(s) and contribute to department and organization special management projects, as assigned. You will identify opportunities for and drive continuous process improvement for efficiency gains and maintain up-to-date documentation of responsibilities and cross-train for processes, as needed.

What do we expect from you?Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent experience, required Minimum two (2) years' financial accounting and/or financial analysis experience, required Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred Strong communication skills (verbal, written), required Demonstrated problem solving, organizational, and time management skills with attention to detail Strong analytical and accounting skills thorough understanding of GAAP and IFRS, preferred Strong computer skills including, but not limited to, Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint SAP application knowledge, strongly preferred Working Conditions:

Up 10% (domestic/international/both) travel, required

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities: Develops solutions to a variety of complex and unusual problems that require independent judgment and ingenuity to modify procedures standards related to financial accounting. Work is accomplished under general direction and completed work is reviewed for results. Develops, installs and implements new and revised accounting systems. Creates or modifies system specifications and documentation and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures with management and users. Analyzes and reconciles financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers. Directs and prepares formal recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures. Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement. Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation. Directs or performs the compilation and analysis of financial information and prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. Ancillary Functions and Responsibilities: Provides technical leadership on large or complex projects and may directly supervise 1 to 3 Accountants. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work, complaints and resolving problems. Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Formal Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience: Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting, Finance or another appropriate discipline from four-year college or university and five (5) or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
