Basic Function

This is an Accountant position based out of the Drury Hotels Companys Cape Girardeau Corporate office. The position is open due to company growth. The responsibilities and duties for this position are comprised of typical accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is someone who desires to grow in the position, yet can patiently wait for the appropriate matching of the companys need and their desire for advancement. The position will maintain a high standard of integrity and service at all times to promote the Drury culture with team members, vendors & customers.

Job Duties

  • Maintain sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate manner and maintain discretion/confidentiality in all matters.

  • Maintain the accounting records for assigned hotels by recording journal entries and reviewing variances from budget. Process accounts payable for assigned hotels. Apply generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Prepare year-end work papers for assigned companies.

  • Prepare and process Sales Tax reports for assigned hotels.

  • Assist in the annual budget process.

  • Assist in the preparation of schedules requested by the external auditors in preparation for the annual audit.

  • Other tasks and special projects as company needs dictate.

  • Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications, especially Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Word software. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

  • Must have the ability to enter datawith efficiency and accuracy.

  • Ability to operate most standard office equipment.

  • Keen attention to detail inpreparing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

  • Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills. Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Exhibit a +1 Service Attitude by providing courteous, friendly customer service. Respond promptly and efficiently to inquiries and requests.

Education and/or Experience:

A college degree with a major in accounting is required.
