  • Must be familiar with plant safety rules and guidelines and be sure they are followed by self and all employees in the area

  • Must move and stack product to appropriate locations if assigned to the Warehouse

VIEW JOBS 1/22/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-21T00:00 Maintains and repairs the facility's structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Supports maintenance and facilities staff by performing "handyman" maintenance duties such as furniture moves, simple electrical projects, spot painting and/or cleaning, light construction and/or exterior cleanup. Works with manufacturing or process engineering on the installation or repair of plumbing, electrical, and/or pneumatics required in the production area. Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary. Works from blueprints, drawings or rough sketches. May also assist in hosting customers, suppliers, and corporate visitors by setting up and handling audio-visual (AV) equipment for meetings or conferences. Must be able to work both independently and as a team member to ensure we maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees * Maintain and operate building utilities. * Ensure all areas in plant maintenance comply with OSHA and local regulatory standards. * Coordinate with approved vendors and outside contractors to ensure proper repair, preventive maintenance and documentation of mechanical systems. * Notify management concerning need for repairs or additions to lighting, electrical, plumbing and other building related items. * May provide preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heating/cooling systems within the building, such as: changing filters, cleaning coils, maintaining compressor, etc. * Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain plumbing fixtures in water and drainage systems. * Repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork and other parts of building structures. * Install and repair drywall associated with walls, ceilings, and movable partitions. * Troubleshoot, diagnose and solve mechanical problems both independently and in a team environment. * Maintain safe sidewalks, parking lots, and building access (including snow and ice removal). * Perform general manual labor tasks such as changing light bulbs throughout the facility, installing/repairing facility faucets, and painting the building interior walls. * May maintain documentation such as power diagrams, network diagram, and space usage with CAD software for facility layout and configuration. * May assist the onsite Master Electrician in troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving electrical issues. Experience: This position requires a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience in the areas of facilities, plant and equipment maintenance. Experience with Commercial HVAC and industrial scale electrical distribution preferred. Basic knowledge of one and three-phase electrical under 600 volts. Education: Associate degree from a technical school in a related field or equivalent experience. Further education in mechanical, electrical, industrial systems, and grounds keeping is a plus. Certification(s): * MN Boiler's License, special engineer or higher preferred, * HVAC certification preferred, * Must maintain a valid Class D MN driver's license Travel: 1 - 10% Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel small and medium sized components. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift weight or exert force up to 50 pounds. The employee in this position works in an environment where they may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, there is a risk of electrical shock, and there is vibration. The employee may be required to work with toxic or caustic chemicals, may be subject to higher noise levels, or work near moving mechanical parts. This position requires the employee to be able to move furniture within the facility with the assistance of two- or four-wheel dollies. The employee must have the ability to move ladders and powerlifts around the facility and be able to climb ladders. The ability to work in both hot and cold environments will also be necessary.
