Primoris Water and Mechanical seeks a motivated General Foreman for field supervision. Responsibilities include overseeing projects at assigned job sites, primarily in the Southeast US (and potentially Texas). Job Overview:

Primoris Water and Mechanical is seeking a motivated General Foreman to join our growing business group. This field supervision role involves overseeing projects, or supporting oversight of projects, at assigned job sites, mainly in the Southeast US, but may be elsewhere, such as Texas. Candidates with backgrounds in piping, process and utility equipment, mechanical building constructions, and civil sitework are encouraged to apply.

As a General Foreman, you will play a crucial role in planning and executing projects safely, cost-effectively, and with high quality. You will work closely with General Superintendents, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and may interface with client construction managers, subcontractors, and vendors. Typical projects include underground thermal piping installation, underground utilities, above-ground thermal piping and related utilities, placement of chilled water and heating water equipment, and assisting supervision for our role as General Contractor in energy modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Establishing a strong safety culture at each project site, ensuring safety is at the forefront. Implement Primoris HSE work practices, standards, and procedures.

  • May function as the lead supervisor at a project site, including supervision of foremen, craft personnel, and sub-tier trades; or may report through a General Superintendent.

  • Responsible for leading construction of building and plant mechanical systems such as pumps, chillers, cooling towers, related piping, and accessories.

  • Manage and lead subcontractors across varying trades such as electrical and instrumentation & controls to support our broader General Contractor projects.

  • Responsible for all facets of trench safety and excavation, including complex shoring systems and adherence to engineered shoring systems.

  • Schedule materials, tools, equipment, craft labor, and subcontractors to complete the project.

  • Ensure site adherence to contract documents and specifications.

  • Understand the project scope of work. Identify potential change orders and inform the Project Manager for further collaboration.

  • Communicate with Project Manager to collaborate on scheduling, logistics, budgeting, and overall project execution.

  • Manage crews through utilization of company resources and policies.

  • Display a professional demeanor while interacting with internal and external personnel. The Superintendent is expected to create a collaborative environment with craft, subcontractors, vendors, and the Owner to continually improve the company's delivery and relationships.

  • Provide input and technical expertise for mechanical and civil construction work.

  • Participate in RFI development and ensure technical accuracy.

  • Travel as required, including but not limited to meetings, pre-bid walks, site visits, training, etc.

Key Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • 5 to 20 years of progressive experience in construction and construction management.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).

  • Must be willing to temporarily relocate for project assignments as required.

  • Knowledge of equipment and tools for installation of process equipment, utility equipment, piping, and related activities.

  • Experience overseeing and coordinating numerous construction trades to deliver a successful project.

  • Knowledge of equipment and tools for excavation and piping installation.

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

  • Ability to supervise numerous craft personnel and subcontractors of varying skill levels.

  • Must comply with client and Primoris site safety requirements.

  • Effective communication skills to effectively communicate with project team members.

  • Salary/wage will be determined based on experience.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in heavy commercial/industrial, commercial, universities, aviation, hospital, or other campus-related projects and industries.

  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word, is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must comply with company's drug and alcohol abuse policy.

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical examination as required by the company.

  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.

  • Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials.

*It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time and work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.).

  • Mobility requirements: uneven ground level; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas; work performed in deep and shored excavations.

  • Work Environment: industrial construction sites, typically exterior environments; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
