We are hiring for a General Foreman for the Northern Virginia area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates and supervises all company personnel on assigned projects;

  • Performs actual "hands on" field duties;

  • Documents, records and reports hours worked for all personnel assigned to project;

  • Maintains daily logs of work performed and the work location;

  • Resolves complaints and grievances within work force;

  • Manages small to large size projects;

  • Enforces safety policies;

  • Enforces truck policies;

  • Oversee gas crew, installing services, renewals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 5 years'of working knowledge of distribution gas Operations;
  • 5 years' knowledgeof poly fusion procedures;
  • 5 years'experience directly supervising 3 to 10 supervisors;
  • 5 years'training employees planning, assigning and directing work;
  • 5 years'addressing complaints and resolving problems;
  • A Valid Drivers' License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able tocalculate figures: percentage, area, proportions, circumference andvolume;

  • Able totravel out-of-town;

  • 24 hours/7day on call duty;

  • Ability tosolve project related problems;

  • CDL (Class A)

Current VGOA Certification a plus

Responsibilities * Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified diesel mechanics. * Assist mechanics in developing their skills with support of the Service Manager. * Schedule repair work and assign technician(s) to mechanical segments that match their skill level to ensure quality. * Ensure that all repairs are assigned to mechanics in an equal and fair manner. * Provide technical support for mechanics when necessary. * Check progress (W-I-P) of each repair order throughout the day. * Maintain high-quality repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality. * Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed. * Monitor mechanics' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
