General Facility Maintenance

Job Responsibilities

Tri-County Technical College invites applicants to apply to the role of General Facility Maintenance. The General Facility Maintenance candidate will support the Physical Plant in various critical capacities providing installation, maintenance and repair services as needed and/or assigned.

Includes doors and hardware, external building envelope surfaces such as foundations, walls and roofs, exterior hardscapes including parking lots, sidewalks, stairs and common areas, interior finishes, pest control, event setup/breakdown and furniture and equipment moves. The candidate must have working knowledge of safety practices, tools, equipment, materials, and supplies used with doors, hardware, keying systems and building finishes. Must have the knowledge and skill to operate lifts and motorized equipment.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Installs/repairs/maintains all aspects of interior and exterior doors. Including door leaf's, frames & door hardware such as hinges, closers, locksets, handles, mullions, panic/egress devices, and ADA automatic openers.
  
  Maintains campus locks and key systems according to procedures and key standards to maintain a secure environment. Serves as Key Distribution Manager for the College, Maintains a physical key management system. Issues keys in a timely manner, ensures proper authorization and maintains accurate records of key issuance.

• Install, maintain and repair interior finishes including wall coverings, flooring and ceilings. This includes preparation of surface, selection and ordering of material, application of product and protection of surrounding area. Maintains a current log and history of paint, wall & floor coverings, ceiling tile and finishes for each building.

• Plan, coordinate and perform the logistics for furniture and equipment moves for instructional and business needs. Including desks, chairs, cabinets, classroom boards, instructional and business equipment, awards and pictures. Plan, coordinate and perform the setup and breakdown of college events both on and off campus.

• Perform small projects and coordinate with contractors and vendors on maintenance projects and building maintenance activities, such as painting, office/classroom upfits, flooring, etc. Perform and manage maintenance contracts such as pest control across all TCTC campuses.

• Assist with the installation, maintenance and repair of exterior finishes and hardscapes

• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Associate's degree + 2 yrs directly related work experience; or High school diploma + 4 yrs directly related work experience.
