The Position:
The Maintenance Custodian maintains the visual appearance of the College and keep restrooms, hallways, classrooms and other spaces clean. In addition to daily cleaning responsibilities, this position will support campus events by moving and setting up tables and chairs as needed.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Green Spaces
o Outdoor entrances
o Trash removal
o parking lots
o Grounds care (turf maintenance and weed control)
o Student and Staff outdoor seating
o Litter removal
Perform projects as assigned by Facilities Leadership, through the work order system.
Respond to emergencies (spills, accidents, safety concerns, etc.) .
Support builing operation needs for campus events including outdoors areas such as green spaces, parking lots, trash removal, and resetting outdoor furniture.
Demonstrate a strong customer service and/or student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving and desire to identify and support student success.
Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported.
Go beyond the easiest or surface answer for a student, or an internal or external customer, and get to the root cause of the problem, question or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possible.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Must be able to complete assigned tasks
Must be able to comprehend and follow instructions, written and oral
Significant physical effort, lifting, walking, bending, etc.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently
Assist with the movement of furniture, equipment and unload new materials as necessary
Work in extreme hot and cold environments
Ability to navigate the college work order system

Starting Salary Range: $15.00 - 17.00 (based on experience)
Classification: N2 (non-exempt)
